Mosaics at 600 Front Appartments

These mosaics are found on the walls of the 600 Front Apartments. One of the depressing things about San Diego is that virtually everything that has been built in the last 20 to thirty years is beige adobe architecture. Apparently in the past their were Taco Bells in San Diego. If any remain they are few and far between. I think what brought about their demise is that a Taco Bell would be impossible to find, as virtually every house looks like a Taco Bell. These tiles add a slight to the incredible monotony of beige downtown. It even in my mind looks slightly Arabic. They are simple but really effective elements.
